The Coroner is required to hold inquests as prescribed in the Penal Code (§31-2801, I.C.), to provide for the burial of unclaimed bodies (§31-2802, I.C.), to handle and properly dispose of property found on corpses (§§31-2803 & 2804, I.C.), and to act as Sheriff under certain circumstances (§§31-2806 & 2807, I.C.).
